Campfire Baked Apples

Today we have a really simple camping recipe for you – a delicious dessert that will hit your sweet tooth whilst serving as one of your five fruits for the day! There’s not many things in this world that can’t be improved by adding a bit of sugar, butter and cinnamon – but today’s recipe features the original fruit – the Apple! This one is so easy to make and is too delicious not to try – so next time you head off into the outdoors, bring a few apples and just one or two other camping ingredients and you’ll be enjoying this dessert before you know it!

Ingredients:

  • 1 Apple (of your choice)
  • 1/2 tbsp of Butter
  • 1/2 tbsp of Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tbsp of Brown Sugar
  • Aluminium Foil
How to make it:
  • Core the apple, leaving the bottom intact
  • Sprinkle the inside with cinnamon, brown sugar and dot with butter
  • Double wrap in aluminium foil, place in hot coals for around 10-15 minutes and turn sides occasionally
  • Remove the foil and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Tip: while turning in the fire try not to pierce the foil as your butter might leak out!
