Charred Fish Steaks

Here’s another simple, but really tasty fish recipe for you to try out. You can do most of the work at home before you even leave, so when you are at your campsite you can get on with cooking it straight away.

Here’s what you need:

  • 2 tablespoons of Cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of White pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of Paprika
  • 1/2 cup of creole seasoning
  • 1/2 cup of blackening seasoning
  • 1 large knob of butter
  • 6-8 filleted fish steaks

Preparation

Simply mix all the dry ingredients in a zip lock bag at home

Time to cook

  • Cover your fish fillets (preferably freshly caught!) in the dry mixture.
  • Melt your knob of butter in a skillet before searing the fish steaks for a couple of minutes on each side.
  • Take the pan off the heat and cover it with a lid.
  • The residual heat from the pan will continue to cook the meat for around 10 minutes.
  • Remove lid and enjoy!
