Quick and easy camp-fire Pop Corn

Here’s a really quick and easy idea to try when you’re there sitting around the camp fire or coal pit, telling stories long into the night.

Here’s what you need:

  • Some corn kernels
  • A teaspoon of oil
  • Pinch of salt
  • Knob of butter
  • Aluminium foil
How to make the delicious camp-fire popcorn:
Take a length of foil and fold it over on itself to double it up, then place the oil and a handful of kernels in the centre.

Fold the corners up over into the middle to make a pouch making sure you leave enough space for the popcorn to pop into!

Now attach it to the end of a stick that you find laying around and use it to hold the pouch over the camp fire, or hot coals.

Shake the pouch as the corn starts to pop and remove from the heat once the popping stops.

Now simply open your pouch and season with salt and/or butter.

If you have the room in your backpack, bring a bottle of caramel sauce to squeeze over the warm popcorn for a really indulgent sticky treat!
